Facilitating Agile Release Trains

Unique to SAFe® Release Train Engineer certification exam, the Release Train Engineer (RTE) is part of the trio of leaders, including product managers and system architects. This is critical in leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver value. The RTE must create the right environment, have the right conversations, facilitate the right meetings, and gather the right people to make decisions based on the right data.

In the SAFe® RTE course, you’ll learn to execute SAFe and continuously improve PI Planning and other vital SAFe events. You’ll discover how to coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets. And you’ll get the guidance and tools you need to work effectively in remote environments with distributed teams.

Meet Your Instructor:

Ray Angelone - SAFe SPCT and Enterprise Coach
Ray Angelone is a pioneer in the SAFe framework. With over 12 years of experience with SAFe, Ray was among the first to assume the RTE role at EMC, even before the title was officially recognized. He has successfully coordinated work across three continents, effectively managing what is now known as a Solution Train. Ray’s extensive experience makes him one of the earliest Solution Train Engineers (STE).

Ray’s deep expertise in SAFe is complemented by his background as a software engineer and project director. He emphasizes the importance of a healthy organizational culture and will introduce various techniques to enhance psychological safety. Ray was also a featured speaker at the 2024 SAFe Summit in Washington, DC.
